Paddling and water activities
Landscape in Utsjoki is different from southern Lapland, as we have steep slopes rising next to most water areas. The Arctic waters are fresh and clean: so pure, you can see the fish swim under your canoe. Our climate in summer is an outdoor person´s paradise. Comfortable warm summer air with a light breeze from the Barents Sea are perfect for enjoying summer outdoors. We have large, sandy beaches by many of our paddling destinations, so you can even enjoy a warm a day on the beach in the Arctic!

Easy canoeing trip
Welcome on our guided easy canoeing trip in Utsjoki, Mantojärvi lake! Admire the serene landscapes, with your canoe floating silently across the clear water.
This trip is suitable for families with small children, too!
Stand-up paddling (SUP)
Witness the most beautiful arctic landscapes around you from Mantojärvi lake, paddling on a SUP-board! Summer day in the Arctic can´t get any better than this!
Open water swimming
For swimming enthusiasts, we recommend to try open water swimming. We have neoprene overalls, shoes and safety buoys you can rent, and we are happy to advice in water areas to try or join your excursion assisting with transfers with taxi or boat. Send email to request more!
Rental gear
Our company mainly offers guided tours and activities, but we also offer some outdoor gear for rental use (when we are ot using them on our guided programs). You can request these via email at arctic@travelutsjoki.com. Prices vary between 5 - 50 €/day.
We have canoes, SUP-boards, packraft, open water swimming gear, tents for 3-4 people, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, rain clothing, fishing gear, backpacks, camping stoves, Garmin GPS, hiking poles, life jackets, bikes and warm clothing.
