Easy canoe trip

Welcome on our guided easy canoeing trip in Utsjoki, Mantojärvi lake! This tour is available for online booking. You can also send us email to request other date/time! 

We pick you up from your accommodation in Utsjoki village and take you about 15 minute drive to Mantojärvi lake, where we start our canoeing trip. We will provide you safety vests and instruct how to use the canoe. Our guide will be paddling with you for about 2 hours in Mantojärvi lake, teaching you some basic techniques and showing you around the beautiful lake area. We will take you back to your accommodation in Utsjoki after the tour.

Wear clothing fit to weather, protective hat from sun, sun glasses and shoes that you don´t mind getting wet. Bring your own snacks and something to drink, and if it is a hot day, you might want to take your swim suit and towel with you, too!

What makes Utsjoki so special? 

Landscape in Utsjoki water areas is different from southern Lapland,  as we paddle in rivers and lakes, surrounded by highland area. In  most locations where we move, we have steep slopes rising next to  our canoes, reminding us about the power of nature, shaping the  landscape we see today. Our waters are fresh and clean: so pure, you can see the fish swim  under your canoe. Our climate in summer is an outdoor person´s  paradise. Comfortable warm summer air with a light breeze from the  Barents Sea are perfect for enjoying summer outdoors. We have  large, sandy beaches by many of our paddling destinations, so you  can even enjoy a day on the beach during your paddling excursion,  taking a swim with some wild reindeer hanging around on the  beaches.
