Utsjoki is a remote area in the far North, accessible with a good  road connection, but with almost no artificial light disturbing the  dark wide sky. 

In Utsjoki, the northern lights can be seen on most of the clear nights from mid September to early April. 

You  might be very lucky and even see the Northern Lights from your hotel window or the porch of your cottage. For  guests wanting to increase their odds of seeing the Auroras in Utsjoki region, it is  recommended to book a tour with a local guide during the aurora season. Our Northern lights tour with minibus/minivan is always for small or private groups. Tours include pick-up and drop-off max 8 km from Utsjoki village, but we can also pick you up from further locations for extra cost. Up to 3 hours, between 7 PM and 1 AM, a local guide will drive to dark and open spaces, to find the best locations  to spot northern lights. We always bring warm drinks and small snacks on tours, and can provide some extra clothing to keep you warm.
