Arctic Ocean tours: Sandfjorden nature reserve (guided full-day tour from Utsjoki)

10 hours

Very easy

Only about 2,5 hour drive from Utsjoki, is the protected and untouched nature reserve of Sandfjorden. The landscape with white, sandy beach and the layered fell is millions of years old.

About 2,5 hour drive from Utsjoki, towards Tana fjord and Berlevåg, is the protected and  untouched landscape of Sandfjorden, dating about 2 million years  back. The white sandy beach reaches further than your eyes can see.  On our Tour to Sandfjorden, we pick you up from your accommodation in Utsjoki or Nuorgam and drive you on a scenic road by the Tana fjord and across the highland area next to Varanger Halvoya national park, to Sandfjorden nature reserve. At this site, you can explore the beach area freely  and even try a swim in the Arctic Ocean. We can visit Kongsfjord fishing village near by or hike the demanding 6 km  marked trail to Sandfjordfjellet by the beach. You can bring your own snacks, reserve wilderness lunch for extra cost, or try local  services in the small Kongsfjord village.

This is a full day tour. We start from Utsjoki early in the morning, and will return in the evening. Send us email to reserve, as we only do this tour with small or private groups and will tailor the schedule to fit group´s needs!
