Husky farm visit, 1-hour program

3 hours

Easy

If you want to try husky sledding in the gorgeous arctic scenery without mass tourism, then this experience is for you.

Husky sledding is originally from Siberian and Inuit regions, but has  spread as a sport and tourism attraction to other regions with cold climate as well. If you  want a husky experience in the gorgeous arctic scenery without mass  tourism, then this experience is for you. We will pick you up from your accommodation in Utsjoki, provide some extra winter gear if needed, and take you to a small, private husky farm on the Norwegian side of the River Teno (transfer is about 1 hour). An experienced local musher will meet you at the farm and tell you about the huskies, their training and how to drive a husky sled. You can try driving the husky sled on the fields close to the farm. We will take you back to your accommodation in Utsjoki after the sledding.

This 1-hour program is suitable for families with children or anyone with worries about driving a dog sled. If you want a longer husky experience, book our longer husky program via website or email!

When trying husky sledding as our guest, there is no need to be an  expert with dogs – anyone can participate. But it is important to  know that the dog sledding is like skiing: you can fall and you can get injured. This is rare,  but it can happen if the driver does not control the speed as  instructed. Listening to the safety instructions in the beginning is very important.

Please notice that husky tours are booked "On request", meaning that after you book via webstore, we will confirm your booking within three days. You can also send us email if you want to book via email or on other dates that are on our booking calendar.

You can also send us email to request for full-day husky sledding tours and multiday tours, these can also be arranged!
